This photo shows a wire mesh strainer our tech installed in the top of a gutter downspout at the roofline of a brick home in the DFW area. An open downspout is a hollow, sheltered climbing route that lets rats, mice and other pests reach the roof and look for gaps into the attic. The mesh covers that opening while still letting rainwater flow through.
