What We Actually Do in Little Elm

Every number here comes from our own service records, our own inspections and what Little Elm asks us for, never an industry average.

Ant control, rodent control and termite control lead Little Elm pest control demand

Ant control leads in every town we serve, so the second and third are what make Little Elm's list its own, and the first inspection checks for all three.

  • 95% of Little Elm pest control visits are finished by Pest Me Off in one trip

A second trip means coming back between scheduled visits, so this is the share of Little Elm work that held the first time.

  • 93% of Little Elm homes Pest Me Off inspects need rodent proofing in some form

It is nearly always one of three places, the corners of the garage door, where the heating and cooling lines come through the wall, or a missing filter cover. Rodent proofing, which the trade calls exclusion, closes them for good.

Local pest control

Why Little Elm Homes Choose Pest Me Off

Pest Me Off provides licensed residential pest control in Little Elm, TX, from everyday ant problems to the rats and mice that get into attics and walls when the weather turns. Ants are the pest Little Elm asks about most, and rodents and termites come next, so every first visit starts with a full inspection rather than a quick spray.

Rodents matter here too. Nearly every Little Elm home we inspect needs rodent proofing somewhere, usually at the corners of the garage door or where the heating and cooling lines come through the wall, so a Little Elm visit looks for where a rodent could get in as well as what is already inside.

Rodent proofing in Little Elm

Keep Rats and Mice Out of Your Little Elm Home for Good

Rodent proofing, which the trade calls exclusion, seals the gaps a rat or mouse uses to get into a house. Trapping alone only removes the animals already inside, and new ones follow the same route in. Sealing the route is what ends the problem instead of treating it again every fall.

From our Little Elm routes

What Our Little Elm Crews Actually See

Our crews run Little Elm week after week, the same neighborhoods on a regular cycle. Here are real jobs from our routes, where they were and what we found.

Fire antReddish fire ant close-up from a Pest Me Off job in Frisco, TX
West Little Elm

Mounds along an open-field edge

On a newer home backing an open field and alley, we treated fire ant mounds in the lawn and granulated the whole yard on the initial visit. Carpenter ants were working the perimeter too. Lots that border cleared ground stay our highest fire ant pressure in Little Elm, so we set a follow-up rather than spot-treating one mound.

North Little Elm

A roof rat in the attic traps

An attic inspection near the shoreline turned up heavy droppings and a juvenile roof rat in the traps. We sealed a roof joint, the chimney flashing, and the AC line entry, then set snap traps and monitoring cameras. On lakeside lots the open field and tree canopy keep repopulating the attic, so we close every opening before the trapping holds.

East Little Elm

Mice through a chewed garage seal

A family that had just moved into a new build off the lake found mice active in the garage. The garage door seal was chewed through on the right corner and the AC line needed sealing. New-construction garages are the most common first-year mouse call we run in Little Elm, so we sealed the gaps before placing any traps.

Rodent proofingNew vent cover installed on a low, wide-open dryer vent on a Pest Me Off job in McKinney, TX
North Little Elm

A wide-open dryer vent, capped

A dryer vent set low on the back wall sat wide open with no cover, close enough to the ground to be an easy way in for rodents. We fit a new vent cover with a back-draft flap that seals shut when the dryer is off, then checked the rest of the low penetrations along that wall. A wide-open dryer vent down near grade is one of the most common rodent gateways we close on Little Elm homes.

We build each Little Elm plan around what we actually find, not a generic calendar.

What Little Elm calls about

The Pests Little Elm Homes Call Us About Most

Ants first, because they are the pest Little Elm searches for most, as every town we serve does. Then rodents and termites, next on Little Elm’s own list.

Ants

Fire ants, odorous house ants & carpenter ants
Seasonal activity
Peak March to September
Most common ants in Little Elm
Fire AntOdorous House AntCarpenter Ant

Fire ant mounds come up in lawns, flower beds and along sidewalks after spring rain, and a disturbed mound can sting a child or a pet many times over. Odorous house ants trail into kitchens and bathrooms looking for sugar and water. Carpenter ants are the ones to watch around wet wood, because they nest in it rather than eat it.

Our ant control in Little Elm starts with which ant it is, because each one needs a different treatment, and the aim is the whole colony rather than only the ants you can see. House ants are covered from the BugOff plan up, and fire ants and carpenter ants from the Stinger plan up.

Rodents

Roof rats, Norway rats & house mice
Seasonal activity
Peak September to March
Most common rodents in Little Elm
Roof RatNorway RatHouse Mouse

Roof rats travel along tree limbs and fences and get in high, through gaps at the roofline, soffits and vents. Norway rats and house mice stay low, using the corners of the garage door and the gap where the heating and cooling lines enter the wall. Scratching in the attic or walls on a fall evening is usually the first sign.

Our rodent control in Little Elm runs as one sequence. We find and seal every opening first, then trap, then come back to check, so new rodents cannot replace the ones we remove. Full rodent protection, the Mickey plan, keeps an exterior bait station working between visits.

Termites

Eastern subterranean termites
Seasonal activity
Swarms February to May
Most common termites in Little Elm
Eastern SubterraneanFlying Termites

Eastern subterranean termites live in the soil and come up into a house through mud tubes on the foundation, eating wood from the inside where nobody sees it. Flying termites indoors on a warm spring day, often near a window, are usually the first sign, along with hollow-sounding trim or paint that bubbles.

Our termite treatment in Little Elm starts with a full inspection of the foundation, the garage and any wood touching the soil. Termites are not part of the recurring plans, so treatment and monitoring are quoted on their own, and we come back to check the treatment is holding.

What Our Customers Say

“
We live right by the lake and the wasps and spiders were nonstop. The tech cleared every nest and web off the house, treated the beds and the whole perimeter, and walked me through what to expect. Easy to schedule and the results held. Switching to their recurring plan.

“
We were seeing roaches in the kitchen and Dylan came out, set up monitors, and did a full flush-out. He came back two weeks later to check the boards and there was no new activity. Honest, thorough, and they actually follow up instead of disappearing after one visit.
